We will gather in the Medicinal, Culinary, Butterfly Gardens on Nancy White Way, for a class in “deadheading” (pinching back all the flowering herbs and plants to promote more abundant growth), weeding, and our first harvesting.
Then, we will bundle up Herb Bouquets (rosemary, basil, oregano, thyme, lemon verbena, cilantro, parsley and dill) to give out at Food@First the next day. This is our first harvest and first food donation coming from our Community Gardens & Urban Farm!
We will be doing monthly harvesting of herbs from our gardens, Sunday mornings at 9am, for bundling up into Herb Bouquets to give to our Food@First neighbors. Stay tuned for the next one!
