LOVE, COMPASSION, AND THE ART OF FORGIVENESS
Sunday, May 1

- Yom HaShoah — Holocaust Memorial Service
- 11:00 AM
- The 20th century saw one of the worst crimes perpetrated against humanity as Nazi Germany systematically exterminated the lives of nearly six-million Jews, in addition to millions of gays, lesbians, Gypsies, social "misfits" and other "incurables". In this solemn service, we will remember and honor the lives of those who died and explore ways to find healing and forgiveness for these grave events.
EVENTS THAT HAVE ALREADY OCCURRED
Sunday, January 30

- The Forgiveness Project
- 11:00 AM
- In 1995 Azim Khamisa lost his only son, Tariq, in a sensless gang-related murder. Rather than reacting with rage and bitterness, Azim instead chose the path of forgiveness and compassion. This amazing choice led to the establishment of the Tariq Khamisa Foundation (www.TKF.org) and the subsequent forgiveness movement which has reached millions. Mr. Khamisa joins us in our morning worship to share the experiences of his journey. Then, we will enjoy a fellowship time, followed by a Q&A session with Mr. Khamisa.
Sunday, November 14

- Trilogue — Interfaith Service
- 11:00 AM
- It is no secret that much of the strife and turmoil present in the world today stems from tensions between followers of the various major religions. Much can be done toward healing these rifts and divisions simply by seeing things from another point of view. On this heart-opening morning, Dr. Colglazier welcomes both a Rabbi and an Imam for a three-way conversation about God, Religion, Love and Forgiveness.
Sunday, October 10

- Blessing of the Animals
- 11:00 AM
- Animals play a huge and important role in our lives as human beings. On Sunday, October 10, we focus our 11:00 AM worship service on their significance with our "Blessing of the Animals". Dr. Colglazier is joined with special guests as we move to the Forecourt for this unique, pet-centric service that celebrates the bonds we have with all of God's creatures. What a great opportunity to bring your friends — of both the two and the four-legged variety!
Saturday, September 25
Sunday, September 26

- "Forgive for Good Weekend"
- 10:00 AM
- This is the first in our series of workshops focusing on our theme of "Love, Compassion and the Art of Forgiveness". Join us on Saturday, September 25 from 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM as Dr. Fred Luskin of Stanford University presents his powerful seminar "Forgive for Good" which combines lecture with a hands-on approach to the ancient tradition of forgiveness. Participants will explore forgiveness with the goal of reducing hurt and helplessness, letting go of anger and increasing confidence and hope as they learn how to release unwanted hurts and grudges.
- Then, we welcome Rev. Lyndon Harris — the priest in charge of the relief ministries at Ground Zero offered through Saint Paul's Chapel after the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001 — to a special worship service on Sunday, September 26 at 11:00 AM. This will be followed by lunch and a Q&A session with Rev. Harris, who will speak about the transformative experiences of Saint Paul's Chapel and the wider community's response to 9/11.
